About the Event

“Independent Living is a place where everyone who walks through the door becomes part of a close-knit family. A small inclusive community where everyone is respected and listened to. It has changed my life by making me more confident in my own skills and abilities”- Amy A. (Member)

We cordially invite you to attend our 13th annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities Event. This year we will be organizing an Accessibility Conference in addition to our free breakfast. The event is to be held on Thursday December 1st , 2022 at the Holiday Inn on Regent Street beginning at 7:00 a.m. This half-day event will showcase and provide information regarding Accessibility and the up-and-coming Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and its impact on business.

We are a charitable organization to help people with all types of disabilities gain and improve upon important life skills to ensure an independent lifestyle. However, we only achieve these goals with the generous support of our sponsors like yourself.

Our sponsors are at the heart of our mission to create an inclusive and supportive community for persons with disabilities. This year we hope to raise $25,000.00 with this event to help fund our future goals and ensure the programs that our community members rely on can continue. In addition, this event will provide local businesses and interested parties with key information regarding accessibility in our city. Some of our long-term goals are creating access to accessible housing developments, expanding our outreach programs to help more of Manitoulin Island and providing opportunities for people with disabilities to find gainful employment. This is where we need help from sponsors and businesses like you. Your support would go towards helping over 24,000 people living in Sudbury that have a disability.

Attendees of the conference will be able to choose from a multitude of sessions providing pertinent information regarding accessibility. The conference will be a hybrid event allowing participants to access information either online or onsite.  We

have several levels of sponsorship that range between $500 and $5000. Each sponsorship level includes different recognition opportunities as well as free seats to the conference sessions.

These opportunities are outlined in this sponsorship package. If you want to be a part of our dynamic event. Please contact us at (705) 698-1335 or email us at

dcopeland@ilsm.ca.

We look forward to seeing you at our breakfast and conference and to becoming a part of our team. With your support we can continue to help our community grow into a place that is inclusive to all. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
